About Miele

Miele is a German manufacturer of premium domestic appliances and machines for commercial applications. Since its inception in 1899 by Carl Miele and Reinhard Zinkann, Miele has been a family-owned, family-run company under the ownership of the two families. Today, the company is being run by the fourth generations of the respective families, based in Gütersloh, Germany.

Since its founding days, Miele’s guiding motto has always been “Immer Besser” (Forever Better). In keeping with this credo, Miele produces products of a proverbially high quality, representing Miele’s continuous contribution to improving quality of life. This same belief is applied in every aspect of the company which led Miele to emerge as the ‘Best Company’ in Germany in the best brands 2007 awards.

Miele's product range comprises of cooking appliances (ceramic hobs, CombiSets, multi-function ovens, cooker hoods, steam ovens, microwave ovens), coffee makers, refrigerators and freezers, wine storage units, washing machines, tumble dryers, rotary ironers, dishwashers, vacuum cleaners and commercial machines.

Miele is an ardent supporter of fine-dining. Miele is committed to helping to encourage and support the food and wine industry, especially in Asia. It is equally committed to promoting the enjoyment and understanding of good food among the people of this diverse region.

One way in which Miele achieves these goals is through supporting quality food and wine publications. In addition to helping launch The Miele Guide, Miele has also sponsored the publication of celebrity chef Justin Quek’s first cookbook, Justin Quek: Passion & Inspiration, and Wine Dinners, by noted wine collector and authority NK Yong and his amazing chef-wife Melina Yong. In 2007, Miele also worked with Filipino publisher Artpost Asia on the regional launches of Foodlore and Flavours: Inside the Southeast Asian Kitchen, a cookbook commissioned by the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN). In 2006, Miele published its own book, titled Steam, which features the recipes of eight of Asia’s best chefs. Miele’s regional showrooms have, over the years, played host to many of the world’s most respected chefs.
