Made up of a group of traditional openair huts spread out among padi fields and lotus ponds, this restaurant is a charmer. The food is rustic but achingly good, and its main speciality is its famous fried duck. Marinated for 36 hours in Indonesian herbs and spices, it is then steamed and deep-fried to a perfect crisp. Other tasty treats like bebek betutu (smoked duck stuffed with Balinese spices and wrapped in banana leaf) have to be ordered a day in advance. Live traditional music performances in the evenings and the beautiful string of oil lamps that light the footpath around the restaurant to the padi field at dusk have made this restaurant something of a tourist attraction in itself.
